Lydia Margeson
Level 2 Accredited Tennis Coach
Lydia Margeson joined the Elly Shearman Tennis Coaching team in January 2025 and will mainly be taking the Junior Red Ball midweek classes.
Lydia started playing tennis when she was at 7 and she started working as a coach at 13 to help out her club with their young players. She went on to coach for 6 years at Bradfield College Tennis Centre in Reading and then worked for 7 months for Neilson active holidays.
Lydia tells us more: “I have coached tennis to a wide range of ages, from 3 year olds to 80 year olds. I teach a mix of tennis elements and love the variety of coaching different age groups and abilities.
“I grew up in Reading, and then went to the University of Leeds. I now live in Bristol and work as a mechanical engineer and I really enjoy coaching tennis alongside.
“I am now coaching tennis to help fundraise for a charity called Dig Deep, where I will also be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August in aid of this charity. All the money that I earn from coaching will be directly sent to the charity from Elly Shearman Tennis Coaching. To find out more visit my fundraising page here.”
