5 things you probably didn’t know about…François!

François is our Head of Performance Coach at Elly Shearman Tennis Coaching

As part of our exciting newsletter we will be asking all our coaches for 5 things you probably didn’t know about them…and first up is our coach François Du Preez!

François is our Head of Performance Coach at Elly Shearman Tennis Coaching. François joined Elly’s team as her husband and has been her coaching mentor since 2015. François brings over 20 years experience and knowledge and is in charge of performance level tennis. Here are François’ 5 things you probably didn’t know about…

1. I was in the army in the armoured core division where I was a gunner on a tank with wheels.

2. One of my favourite foods is a cheese toastie cooked on a fire – you should give it a try (with parent supervision of course).

3. I am a plane spotter.

4. I am from Cape Town.

5. When I lived in Cape Town I spent most of my time surfing and kitesurfing.

If you are interested in Performance Coaching, François has tennis lessons for both adults or juniors, as individual tennis lessons or in coaching groups. Get in touch to find out more or check our 2021 coaching schedule.

COVID-19 Update

We will be closed from Tuesday 5 January

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 4 January 2021, regrettably all indoor and outdoor tennis facilities will need to close across England.

We are therefore extremely sorry to say Elly Shearman Tennis Coaching will be closed until further notice. We will of course keep this page, our social media channels and everyone updated as we progress through the lockdown.

For more information and full guidelines please visit the Lawn Tennis Association.

To keep up to date with all the latest information please follow us on FacebookInstagram and Twitter, and please sign-up for our new email newsletter.

Many thanks,
Elly and the team.
